PYSA will be holding its annual registration for the fall season on Thursday, June 12, from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Saturday, June 14, from 9:00 am - 12:00pm.
Registration will be held at the Fredericksburg Law Enforcement Center, located at 1601 East Main Street, just past Wal-mart and Sutherlands. Your child must have been born between 8-1-1989 and 7-31-2004
The season will run from September 6 through October 25. Practices will begin in late August
The fee to play this season is $60.00 per player, with a $10.00 discount given to those who sign up on June 12 and June 14. This fee includes a numbered jersey, shorts, and socks for your child.
You will need to provide them with shin guards. Shin guards are mandatory, or your child will not be allowed to practice or play without them. Soccer shoes are optional, but are recommended. No shoes with exposed metal or toe cleats(baseball shoes) are allowed.
There will be no linking of players. There will be no linking of coaches and assistant coaches. Siblings may be placed on the same team with the Board of Directors' approval.
Late registrants will be subject to a waiting list in order to insure balanced teams. The Board of Directors tries to balance the teams as late as possible to insure maximum participation.
Our national organization, AYSO(American Youth Soccer Association), has been proactive in complying with the Oprah Act (Volunteer Protection Act of 1996)
and the Child Protection Act of 1993. The Kid Zone and Safe Haven programs for coaches and parents have been the results of this planning. All
coaches, referees and volunteers will be required to complete this training in order to ensure the protection of our children.
There are always shortages of coaches and referees. Free classes for coaches and referees will be taught for all age divisions. Coaching and refereeing are very rewarding experiences. Please contact PYSA for the date
and time these classes will be held.
The fall league will consist of the following age groups:
U5 No Goalie Size 3 ball U10 Goalie Size 4 ball
U6 No Goalie Size 3 ball U12 Goalie Size 4 ball
U8 No Goalie Size 3 ball U14 Goalie Size 5 ball
****U19 (High School) Goalie Size 5 ball(Co-ed)*****
Games will be played on Saturdays only, with no out of town games. The U19 division will be
played Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
We are looking forward to another great season with your children playing the world's most popular sport.
Parents are
typically responsible for:
1.
Preparing snacks and drinks based on the coaches schedule. Names will be assigned randomly.
2.
Assist when needed as a Line Judge. (except Div. 7 & 8-U6 & U5– no goal
keepers).
3.
Assist the coach in making phone calls to the team when needed
(Practice
cancellations/changes, picture reminders, etc.)
4. Be a
positive role model during games. Please remember that even our referees
are volunteers and they are doing the best
they can. Without them, we would have to referee our own kids' games.
When you are scheduled to provide food
you might want to ask the other parents if there are any foods that should
be avoided. (Such as nuts, strawberries, etc.)
* Players should be at the field 15 minutes before the game is scheduled.
Parents and spectators should remain on the sideline opposite the players teams. No person is
allowed to stand near or behind the goal area.
**Coaches, parents and spectators are not to argue with the referees during or after the game.
If you have a disagreement with a referee, you may discuss it with your coach. Your coach may approach
the referee or a board member after the game to discuss(not argue) the matter. Referees are to be treated with respect at ALL times.
Keep in mind that ALL referees are VOLUNTEERS. They do not get paid to give their time
and effort to ensure that all the children have a fun soccer experience.
*Each parent is required to sign the Kid Zone Parent Pledge and abide by it during the season. PYSA asks that
parents encourage and praise all players. Negative remarks to any player are not allowed. We ask that
parents set good examples of sportsmanship during the season.
These are just some things you can do to help both
your child’s coach and the Pedernales Youth Soccer program.
Thanks again for volunteering – we appreciate your help!
